Canaletto walnut

An wood species carefully selected for its light sapwood (the lightest part of the grain), which is enhanced by brushing to provide even more vivid tones and greater porosity. The result is a wood that transports you into nature with a single touch and visually takes on many different nuances.

Our manufacturing processes are environmentally friendly because for us, design means living in a more sustainable world! All our creations are Made in Italy and undergo strict quality controls.

Canaletto walnut wood enjoys provenance traceability and is finished using oil to ensure filling capacity and excellent water-resistant properties as well as a pleasant ‘soft touch’ effect. In addition, it is also antistatic and resistant to UV rays, which slows down the normal oxidation processes in the wood. The oil is lead- and cobalt-free and is safe for the production of wooden toys for children. This is an extremely environmentally friendly product, rated as class A+ by French regulation DEVL1104875A, and certified according to DIN 53160-1, DIN 53160-2, BGR 181 and DIN 51130. Epoxy powder coatings provide excellent mechanical strength, corrosion resistance (suitable for seaside locations), high durability and impact resistance. Since they are baked on, they are completely solvent-free.

Rounded shapes, hand-edged wooden tops or extra-clear glass tops printed with marbled textures for that ‘wow’ effect. Choosing a Morica piece means that you stand out with the best of Italian craftsmanship.

Product Care

WOOD AND MDF Our furniture pieces, in solid wood and genuine MDF veneered wood are handcrafted items of the highest quality, finished using natural oil. Maintenance of these pieces is easy and only a few steps are required to keep them in good condition.

For daily cleaning of oil-finished furniture, a dry cloth is all that is required as the finish preserves the natural structure of the wood. Water should be avoided, as it displaces the oil in the wood pores, in addition to contact with chemical substances that may create stains or halos. A light protective oil may be applied from time to time to revitalise up the piece of furniture.

When cleaning flat surfaces, motion should be horizontal or vertical and be parallel to the grain of the wood as much as possible, avoiding circular motions which may create halos. It should also be remembered that real wood furniture exposed to direct light changes its colour over time. This change is considered to be a natural process of oxidation of the raw material. METAL The metal parts with an epoxy powder coating must be cleaned using a soft cloth moistened with mild soap and water. Under no circumstances should abrasive products, powders, chlorine-based products, acids or bleach be used as they may oxidise or blacken the metal.
